Tomken Bumpstop Mount
A CB is an important device to have on your Jeep, expecially if you plan on participating on trail runs with a club or group. Most group outings recommend it and I felt like we were at a disadvantage every time we showed up for an event without one. I've been reading about CB's and antennas and decided to go with the Firestik II since it can be easily tuned and is a good size to hold a flag. The install of the antenna turned out to be one of the more difficult things we've done, which shocked us. Heck, it seems like you pretty much bolt the darn thing on and attach the cable and you're set. In reality, we encountered a mess of positive/ground continuity issues and SWR power issues that consumed hours and hours of our time. If you've ever done this before or you know something about how antennas work, perhaps it will be less of a pain for you. But I've not installed an antenna like this before so I approach this task as a total newbie. I hope the following report saves you a ton of time and frustration.

I've been told that you can have a cheap CB and having a good and well-tuned antenna will compensate. I've also been told that you can have the worlds most expensive CB but without a decent antenna, it won't work well at all.
