Last week at the opening of the Texas state fair 100 or so lucky but dirty people got to dive into a 14,000 gallon mud pool for the chance to win a 2007 four-door Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, courtesy of Jeep (Daimler-Chrysler). The “Jeep Stick in the Mud” challenge drew over 2,600 entries from around the U.S., of which 120 contestants were randomly selected to dive into the mud. The object of the challenge was to collect as many “sticks” as possible, each worth a certain number of points. The person with the most points one. And that person was Homero Perez of Garland, Texas. Three runners-up were each awarded a “Jeep Adventure Prize Package”.
This site has some video of the event, which is worth checking out:

My intention with the Jeeps Only Blog was to share information on new, unusual and interesting Jeep links, information that just didn’t fit within the link descriptions themselves. I also want to cover links to sites that have been popular on the Jeeps Only search engine but for whatever reason, have disappeared. I’m still going to do that with this blog but I don’t always have time to research before posting and blogs quickly get outdated without frequent posts. So today I’m expanding the scope of the Jeeps Only Blog to include information about our project Jeeps, comments on Jeep news and things I come across that I feel are of interest to Jeep owners and enthusiasts.
My name is Bill and I’m a Jeepaholic. If you consider yourself a Jeepaholic too, you might consider checking in over at Jeepaholics Anonymous. I’ve been a loyal fan of this website (often simply referred to as “JA”) since around 2000 and visit the “support” forums almost every day. JA has been around for a long time and so have many of it’s regulars, which means there is a variety of experience in the answer pool. With so much activity (there are 218 people logged in as I write this), chances are good someone will be able to help. Inside the support forums you’ll find great advice on all sort of Jeep-related topics. Although it seems most of it’s forum members live and play in Southern California, JA has members all over the US and the world. In addition to a fantastic discussion forum, you’ll find how-to articles, road trip stories and opinion articles about Jeeps and trails. Recent how-to/tech articles include:
